US: SimpleWater Arsenic Removal Team
We are working with UCB-bred start-up SimpleWater to help investigate operations-side cost-savings. The firm’s product utilizes electro chemical arsenic remediation (ECAR) technology designed at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to remove arsenic from drinking water supplies.
SimpleWater’s goal is to drive the cost of this already affordable technology down even further to make the product viable for broader-scale distribution to water systems throughout California. Working with backgrounds in accounting, engineering, development, and utility systems, our team has spent the semester getting closely acquainted with the arsenic remediation problem in California, as well as with SimpleWater’s product. We have worked with our client to adjust the scope of our project in order to better serve their business with our deliverables over the long-term. Ultimately, we hope to understand whether or not this technology can be made more affordable at a larger distribution scale in order to provide recommendations to help the company scale up. |
